Ganesh Chaturthi has been a widely celebrated function in many regions of Indian but mainly in Maharashtra. The celebration has come down for generations. No one knows the origin of the festivity. But the era of Shivaji Maharaj and then the capital city Pune is considered the initial point for celebration. Later during British rule in India, the festival became private and limited to families. And again, with the support of Lokamanya Tilak, a freedom fighter, the celebration affair became public.
The above-mentioned is the journey of Ganesh Chaturthi, starting from a public event to going private and again public. But this didn’t stop the homely celebration of the festival, where they used natural wall decoration items for living room. The homely celebration of welcoming Ganesha continues in many homes. They have the Ganesh pooja to embrace the divinity and blessings at home. Some remaining families who do not have the heritage of bringing idols into the house also praise the lord with devotion. They celebrate the festival in front of frames or idols kept at in-house temples. Many can have or gift the 24-carat gold-plated Ganesha dg frames for this celebration.
